Billing Information

Automatic Meter Reading

An AMR meter can be read from the Cooperative's office. Your calculated bill will be mailed to you the first week of the month for the previous month's usage. Your payment is due in the office by 4:00 p.m. on the 21st of the month. A late penalty will be applied if a payment is received after the due date.

Penny Power Program

In this innovative program, your bill will be rounded up to the nearest dollar each month. The "small change" (an average of 50 cents per month) is then earmarked for community betterment groups and other local organizations. Every Member is automatically included in the program. Members may "opt out" at any time. For more information, click here.

Electrical Usage Information

Electric power is a valuable tool, which should be used efficiently and not wasted. You can depend on Cooperative personnel to solve your electrical problems.

Updating your electric system, preparing estimates and advising on the use of electric heating, air-conditioning and insulation are some of the ways your Cooperative can serve you.

Publications

Members of Adams Electric Cooperative receive a monthly publication, which serves to keep you informed. The Adams Outlet is edited in our office and deals with news of local interest. To see the latest feature story and recipes, click here.

Security Lights

The Cooperative rents 100-watt, 250-watt and 400-watt high-pressure sodium vapor outdoor lights. The dusk-to-dawn lighting is controlled by a photoelectric cell. Rental security lights can be installed on the transformer or meter pole.  Security lights installed on the members side of the meter are also available. For more information, call us at (800) 232-4797 or email us.

Wiring Specifications

The Cooperative has free guidelines available for wiring your home, garage or barn.  Make sure you get a copy of the Wiring Specifications and Recommendations Handbook.  Remember, your transformer and secondary wiring may need to be upgraded too.

Surge Suppression

Protect your investments. Lightning strikes and surges can damage or destroy your equipment!

Adams Home Services offers a Whole House Surge Protection Unit which is installed on the meter. This unit protects items like your washer, dryer, freezer, refrigerator, heating system and more.

Point-of-use Surge Protection Devices can be installed on individual equipment such as your television, VCR, computer system, DVD player, etc. For more information, call us at (800) 232-4797 or email us.
